Főz-Süt-Fűt
Legend says when the Romans wanted to conquer the land over the river they found a monster called FÅ‘z-Süt-Fűt living in the marshes of Pest. The monster didn’t fight the legionnaires, but he had them seduced with beauties from the East. The soldiers never returned to their camp and stayed on the left side of the river.
The monster became interested in watching the people, well, kinda mix. With time he was a true voyeur, bringing people together in the most peculiar ways and combinations. The monster is still around, maybe he lives somewhere under the city. They say if his voyeurism is not satisfied he will wake up rampage through the streets like a Godzilla.

WTF?
FÅ‘z-Süt-Fűt was one of the iconic neon signs of Budapest from the 1960’s. It was located on a building on the Károly krt (until 1991 Tanács krt), part of the Kiskörút, the “Small Boulevard”. The FÅ‘z-Süt-Fűt neon sign advertised gas: it cooks (fÅ‘z), it bakes (süt), it heats (fűt). The neon sign was removed around 2002 along with most of Budapest’s old iconic neon signs. FÅ‘z-Süt-Fűt will be part of the planned Budapest Neon Museum one day, hopefully.
So, what is this thing about the monster?
